Noir Epices Type Logo, Poster and Box
Editions de Parfums, Frederic Malle
Noir Epices, Michel Roudnitska
My goal was to pick a perfume from the Editions de Parfums collection and personalize the scent with a type logo, poster and box all reflecting the scent it evokes.
I picked Noir Epices for its strange yet very pleasing combination of smells it contains, which fade from one to the next throughout the day; bursts of orangey spring and roses to spicier pepper and cinnamon, finishing with warm dark touches of sandalwood and pachouli. I hoped to reflect the intermorphing and harmonious nature of the perfumes contrasting notes with the type logo I created for this unique perfume for both women and men.
Forever - Book Sleeve
Based on the widely acclaimed bestseller, this book sleeve was inspired by the main character’s inability to leave Manhattan as long as he wished to stay immortal. Grand Central Station is an icon of Manhattan as a city, and while everyone moves on with their ephemeral lives, Cormac stands still, untouched by time.
Bausch: Typeface Specimen
A typeface inspired by the work of the late performer, teacher, and choreographer, Pina Bausch. Her unique blend of fluid and rigid movement, along with her impressive collaborations with dancers during the creation of a piece marked Pina as one of the most influential leaders in the world of contemporary dance.
Just as dance relies heavily on the principle of form, this type specimen does as well. The letterforms were laser cut in order to put emphasis on the forms of the dancers this typeface was heavily influenced by.
